My style of artwork is very simplistic. I like to create my pieces using bright, contrasting colors, which really helps the main focus of the picture stand out to its viewer. I mostly do my art projects for myself, and though I sometimes consider the constructive comments that are given to me, I enjoy watching my own skills improve over time as I practice with different techniques and mediums. I always make sure that my pieces have clean cut lines, and simple details, so that those who see my art can easily understand what it is, and that way I can get pretty much the same message across to everyone that observes it. To make the purpose of my art even more obvious, I mostly draw things that are seen in everyday life, or things in nature. I enjoy creating plants and flowers, and also portraits. The mediums I have used in my art to create these are charcoal, paint, and pencil. I use pencil in the artworks that I want to incorporate the most detail in, so that there are fine lines that are easy to distinguish from one another. I use paint for simple pieces that I want to put bold and contrasting colors in, so that every part of the painting stands out in a different way. Lastly, I use charcoal for the pieces that require lots of shadows, or fading color because the charcoal is easy to blend. My work as an artist reflects my personality and my aesthetic, and I do this because one day I will be able to reflect on my old pieces to not only see how my skills have changed and improved, but also how my personality has changed and molded differently over time. I look at my artworks and I am immediately reminded of how I felt during the thought process for my sketch, and what my thoughts where when I was choosing the color scheme and the style or the medium. These elements are all what really make each piece a reflection of me, and it is what really makes my art unique. I don't want to use other artists as an influence; I would rather just continue having my own style.
